I'm majoring in Chinese history with a focus on economic and business history. New York is such an international city, you can meet people from all over the world; it gives you great opportunities to learn and network. And NY schools are really good at teaching students how to think critically, which I find very valuable when learning academic subjects. The curriculum there is also diverse and flexible, so that one can choose what he/she wants to study more based on their own needs or interests. Besides, the campus life is full of fun activities! She smiled at me and nodded her head, but then she started asking questions again: What brought you here? Then my story began! My answers were basically just paraphrased versions of my DS-160 form, except for some minor changes about why did I want to go back to China after graduation (which was written down on a little note attached to my passport). After answering those general questions,我又补充了一些具体信息来加强说服力:比如为什么会在大三的时候决定出国;为什么选择NYU而非其他学校;以及中国研究项目的课程设置等等。

Passport, please. 在递出护照之前,我主动说了一句Thank you very much!
